FOR DOG WALKING & HOME VISITS:
o The client is responsible for keeping their dog vaccinated and treated for fleas/ticks/worms, and should provide the walker with up to date records. The walker is not responsible for any ticks or fleas found on the dog.
o The client is responsible for any veterinary bills for their dog, including emergency treatment. If veterinary treatment is required while a dog is in the walker’s care, the dog will be taken to the client’s registered vet where possible, however in an emergency the dog may be taken to the nearest vet. The client agrees to pay any costs incurred for this veterinary treatment unless it is negligence on the walker’s part.
o We politely ask for at least 48 hours notice for cancellations. Less than 48 hours notice will result in the client being charged fully for the walk/home visit.
o The client should provide a collar for their dog, with a tag attached containing their contact details. This is a legal requirement in the UK.
o Payment for the week’s walks/home visits should be made in advance, by the date specified in each invoice, either by bank transfer or cash.
o Slots are reserved on a regular basis and therefore should be used each week in order to maintain your slot.
o All clients and their dogs must be met by the walker at their home for an initial assessment and discussion before an agreement is made. There is no charge for this visit.
o All dogs will undergo a ‘trial’ period to ensure that they are suitable for walking. The walker reserves the right to cancel the walking agreement if a dog is found to be inappropriate for walking.
o Dogs will be kept on lead unless the client agrees in writing for their dog to be exercised off lead and the walker feels that it is safe to do so.
o The walker will wash and and towel dry dogs where necessary, to the best of their ability before they are taken home.
o In extreme weather such as a heat wave or icy conditions, walks/visits may need to be cancelled, cut short or the time slot shifted – the walker will discuss this with the client when necessary.
o Please be aware that walking and home visits may if necessary be carried out up to 30 mins before/after the agreed time, depending on the daily schedule or possible delay of the walker.
o For a slot to be reserved, dogs must walk with us on the same days each week (with reasonable exceptions). We cannot, for example, reserve slots for clients taking the whole summer off.
